My first project is simply the first part I cut on my router.  Nothing fancy but it was a good test of the machine and control software.

I found a picture on the Internet and imported it into CAM software where I was able to convert it to a raised relief.  From there I was able to create a tool path and output g-code to use on the router.

This is the original picture changed into grayscale in the CAM software.

Here is the 3-D relief in the CAM software.

The finished carved image.

With no knowledge of the software and a v-cut router bit that really wasn't designed to cut at the tip, I was able to turn out a reasonable image of the original.  This is 4" x 4" in poplar.
